MAGIC STRIPE HOT PAD

The magic about this pattern is that the stripes are vertical on one side, and horizontal on the other!!!
MATERIALS: Cotton worsted weight yarn, 1 ball each of two colors, A and B.
Two double-pointed, or one circular knitting needle, size 2
With color A, cast on 51 stitches (multiple of 4 plus 3). DO NOT TURN work, but slide to the other end of
your circular or double-pointed needle, and begin Row 1 with color B.
Row 1) B K1, s1wyif, k1* p1, k1, s1wyif, k1* TURN
Row 2) B P1, s1wyib, p1 *k1, p1, s1wyib, p1* SLIDE
Row 3) A P1, k1, p1 *s1wyib, p1, k1, p1* TURN
Row 4) A K1, p1, k1 *s1wyif, K1, p1, k1* SLIDE
Repeat these four rows until the hot pad is square. Bind off in k1, k1, k2tog.
